Solar panel success in Verwood
Solar panels have been installed at our Verwood site this week, thanks to grant funding.

The site, located in Verwood, Dorset, is used as the group’s compaction systems HQ and had the solar panels installed on Monday (12 June) by local company Empower Energy. The installation was made possible thanks to grant funding from the Green Business Fund, who provide grants of up to £10,000 per company towards energy saving equipment.
Steve Mason, Managing Director at Pearce Compaction, oversaw the installation, he commented: “We have a host of machinery on site, including welders which run all day so we have looked at ways in which we could save on electrical costs, and the panels proved to be the solution. The panels will also play a part in reducing the Co2 emissions produced on site, whilst also having financial benefits too.”
The Verwood site has also seen the installation of over 80 LED lighting solutions. The lights will be distributed across the site including office, workshop and bays. LED lighting is proven to use less power than traditional bulbs, and have a longer life expectancy.
